The Improvement for Sale Scheme involves a Registered Social Landlord buying by negotiation, the properties from the current owners. The properties are then fully renovated to Decent Homes Standard. Potential work includes replacement of windows and doors, cleaning and pointing, rewiring, new kitchen and bathroom fittings, the installation of central heating and decorating.


The properties are then sold. In the first instance, they are offered to owner occupiers that are affected by clearance. If they remain unsold they are then sold on the open market for owner occupation.
